Necropunx

"Necropunx" is a poem that paints an apocalyptic picture of a dystopian world. The clouds laden with acid rain and the mutant corpses coming back to life represent a dark future, where environmental and moral degradation has transformed Earth into a desolate shopping mall. The sea has turned into the largest cemetery, while consumerism has erased all traces of animal life.

Humans, some of whom are now reduced to skeletons and some became soldiers, defend corrupt ideals, illuminated only by their device screens. Love has become a disease, and commercials have invaded even dreams. The land, scorched by the sun and poisoned by pollution, is an inhospitable place where life is suffocated by deadly heat and radioactive light.

War, the only remaining religion, dominates a world where reason is reduced to a megabyte. People who try to escape control are hanged from trees. However, in this infernal landscape, a scentless flower sprouts from mud puddles, symbolizing a nearly extinct hope, placed as the only tribute on graves devastated by the explosions.

Done with acrylics and ink on paper.
